says Albert Kirzinger, Chief Designer at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.“From the outset and throughout all its generations, the Transporter has been a robust and practical vehicle. It achieves this with a distinctive aesthetic that has made it an icon. With our seventh Transporter, we’ve developed another vehicle that embodies these qualities – durable with a highly aesthetic design. It continues the classic Bulli DNA while systematically refining the design, as perfectly illustrated by the new PanAmericana,”
Kirzinger adds,
Stylish practicality:“The original PanAmericana, based on the T5, had an unmatched charm and coolness that is evident in every detail of the new PanAmericana.”
says Albert Kirzinger. These elements include wheel rims, headlights, and tail light clusters. Kirzinger continues,“The new Transporter combines high utility with Volkswagen's clean and iconic design. It’s not just the vehicle’s overall lines, but its individual elements that have become hallmark features,”
The new PanAmericana showcases this with its all-terrain attachments on the sides: they protect the body while being aesthetically pleasing with their clean and precise design, further emphasizing the all-road character and robustness of this Bulli built for adventurers. Kirzinger remarks,“Even seemingly small details like side sill panel moldings and wheel arch extensions combine durability with aesthetics, giving the Transporter its unique DNA.”
Iconic design: Another standout feature of the Transporter and Volkswagen is the new 19-inch “Indianapolis” alloy wheel. The PanAmericana will debut with this first 19-inch wheel as standard, a first in the series' history. It boasts a premium design with a diamond-cut rim and black spoked star. Kirzinger notes,“Durability integrated into a clear design signifies value to us and is a key feature of the seventh Transporter generation.”
Distinctive appearance:“Even if the VW badge on the hub cap were covered, the Indianapolis wheel would still be recognizable as a Transporter and Volkswagen wheel due to its clean, iconic design.”
explains Albert Kirzinger. The PanAmericana will come standard with top-of-the-line new LED headlights. Even the entry-level versions will feature LED headlights. The new LED tail light clusters on the PanAmericana also clearly signal that this is a Transporter. This new light design indicates that Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is moving the Transporter into the future of technology, with not only the lights but also the drive system available in an electric version on request.“Headlights and tail light clusters have long been more than just sources of light. The first Transporter had round headlights that gave it a face, making it look like it had eyes. The new Transporter continues this tradition with an unmistakable face, thanks to its striking light design,”
